A small system came through the western slope late last night--in Mesa County 1/10 of an inch of rain, if you're lucky. Douglas Pass and the Rangely area got a good amount, as did the Wolf Creek Pass area.

It's been warm, windy, and dry. A 40 acre fire was contained quickly near Palisade just off 39 road. Temps will be above normal for the next few days.

One big system, possibly the biggest in this season so far, has hit the Western slope and heading east. We got about 1/4 inch of rain this evening in the GJ area, we need more. More I say, MORE!

Just got a Winter Storm Weather Alert on my iPhone calling for 20 to 24 inches of snow from Friday night thru Sunday night. The same alert is showing up on The Weather Channel and amount of snow that could possibly hit on the Front Range. 20 to 24 inches of snow and possible 35mph wind.........wow!

Have a VA Clinic appointment in Loveland for my #2 Covid 19 Vaccine on Saturday afternoon. If it's blizzard or heavy snow coming down, won't be able to go. Have AWD and 4-Lock, but...........

Have already contacted my VA doctor over the VA website, but have to hear back from her.

Winter storm watch for Denver this weekend with up to 3 feet of snow in foothills

Winter weather will pound metro area Saturday and Sunday

https://www.denverpost.com/2021/03/1...end-foothills/

"A weekend snowstorm continues to track toward the Denver area where 1 foot to 3 feet of snow accumulation is possible, especially in the northern foothills, by Sunday night.

A winter storm watch has been posted for the metro area, starting at midnight Friday and lasting through late Sunday night, according to the National Weather Service. Travel across the urban corridor and foothills “may become nearly impossible Saturday evening through much of Sunday.”

Officials in Denver, and elsewhere in the metro area, are urging people to hunker down and stay at home Saturday and Sunday and not risk venturing out if at all possible."

If you don't have snow tires as well, don't even bother...

Just heard on the radio that Governor Polis has activated the COLO National Guard as a resource to deal with a massive snow event.
