So I am relocating from Springs to West Pueblo to have more space, privacy, and less congestion (for now) I am aware that area is booming, but I locked in 2 acres, so gives me a place finally to keep my belongings like a trailer and an RV.

But I looked up West Pueblo and still saw the crime is higher than Colorado Springs. Is this area still bad? When I scouted it a few times, it did not give me that vibe at all.

what are your thoughts?

Are you inquiring about the western part of the City of Pueblo, or about the Metropolitan District of Pueblo West? They are two separate entities and very different in almost every way. The western part of the City of Pueblo has numerous pockets of high crime and poverty (although it's not nearly as bad as the eastern part of Pueblo). Personally, I would not live anywhere in the City of Pueblo except maybe the El Camino and Walking Stick areas. The Metropolitan District of Pueblo West, on the other hand, is much newer, much more affluent, and has very little crime (especially violent crime). Pueblo West is generally regarded as a very safe place to live, with by far the best schools and home appreciation in Pueblo County. It used to be one of Colorado's best-kept secrets, but not any more. The community is absolutely booming with new home and business construction, and home prices have doubled in just the past 4 years. The population is expected to double in the next 5-10 years, from 30K to 60K.

I have lived in Pueblo West for 12 years and have had absolutely no crime involving myself or my property. Granted, I live in one of the more affluent neighborhoods in the community, where crime of any type is almost unheard of. I have a friend who is a deputy with the Sheriff's Department, and he has told me that over half the crime in Pueblo West occurs within the mobile home park west of Purcell and south of Joe Martinez Blvd. If you avoid that area, and any other area within the community where rentals outnumber owner-occupied houses, you should have no worries about crime. FYI, I lived in Colorado Springs for several years (in an affluent area) and experienced a burglary, an attempted robbery at gunpoint in a parking lot, the theft of a motor vehicle, and at least a half dozen incidents of vandalism to my home. Crime, traffic congestion, and the hectic pace of life were the main reasons I decided to move from COS to Pueblo West. I have never regretted that decision. I have lived in 19 different cities/towns in 15 different states during my adult life, and Pueblo West is tied with Rapid City as the most desirable place to live.

If you would like more information on living in Pueblo West, send me a private message and I'll give you my advice.

Purcell would imply Pueblo West.

So, my question is are we talking south Purcell, as in towards Liberty Point, or up by thee ghetto Clarion off Hahns Peak area? Or are we talking about the north side (north of 50) of Pueblo West on Purcell, like by Boyero or past the roundabout or even as far up as Starkweather?

With these questions answered, we can proceed and we got a thread.

Ball is in the OPs court.

Yeah, around Dante and down towards Cellini, but down further south and west on Linden, the homes and neighborhood is rather nice. But that spot where Joe Martinez bends and goes east to Purcell, lower housing in there, but not exactly Pueblo's lower east side or Bessemer area. Either way, you're talking about the area south on Purcell, but as you get further past Linden, it gets pretty nice again.
