I've never had an issue with the bags used for produce or meat at Kroger, HEB, Sprouts, or any other store.

Yes, but it's okay to learn from our mistakes.

Why doesn't Colorado just ban plastic all together if they want to be progressive? No wonder Colorado lost more people moving out of state than migrating in 2022.

Haha. I have a feeling they’re going to go after plastic straws next.

Why would all plastics be banned? The single use plastic bags can't be easily recycled, and have a tendency to get spread all over the landscape. Other plastics don't have that issue.

We've functioned fine without plastic in the early 1900's. Most products were shipped or transferred in wooded crates, cardboard boxes, paper sacks, glass containers via train. If you're going to have consistent policies, do away with all of plastic. This is just a feel good measure and a compliance law to punish the working and middle class.

This is not the early 1900's. Times have changed. You said to ban all plastics, which means no plastics in cars, no plastics in medical devices, no plastics for any reason whatsoever. The bag ban is not a "feel good" measure, it is based on the reality that single use plastic bags fill up landfills, and frequently find their way all over the countryside, into waterways, and into other places they don't belong. When they break down, which takes a very long time, the small particles left are consumed by animals, and make their way into the food chain.

Start by relaying the train tracks. Most small towns were served by a rail spur.

Plastic has enabled lighter shipping methods (i.e. trucks)
There is a lot of energy required to produce and recycle glass, so fire up the nuke power plants that have been decommissioned.

We let our wood product resources burn in huge wildfires, so it will take 40+ yrs to re-establish those forests.
Then we need to re-establish our forest product processing factories.

My memory serves me well of arriving in Colorado mtn towns totally immersed in the smoldering smoke of the wood kilns.

Pick your poison.

All these "save the planet" moves here in the US of A are pointless. If you've been to countries such as China, India, Egypt, etc., you know exactly what I mean. They are all pig sties with horrible pollution and garbage (plastic and otherwise) everywhere. The expression "p*ssing into the wind" comes to mind.
