Really scary, considering how wet it's been, with all the rain/snow, and the lessening of the drought.

That part of the Western Slope hasn't gotten nearly the amount of precipitation as the Front Range has. The area around the fire is at about 4" for the year.

I guess the news has been so full of "Colorado has a respite from the drought" that I've mistakenly thought all statewide was drastically better.

Thank you Jim, the annual thread is now open. I was hoping we wouldn't need one this year.

The Spring Creek Fire in Garfield County is now over 3,000 acres and about 5% contained. There's 300 + firefighters on this.

Fire Weather Warning and burn bans on most of the western slope. Forecast temps in the 90's winds 25-45mph humidity 5-8%.

I just got in the door, was in Bailey visiting my sis. Drove past the fire about an hour ago, not far from I-70 at all, the houses are close, too close for comfort. KNZZ is the GJ news station, said at 5 o'clock it is 20% contained. The winds aren't too bad right now but yesterday it was blowing in Bailey IMO around 25-30 mph steady for the morning.

One that has been going on for a week now--not a big one, is called the "Howard Fire." About 15 miles west of Meeker on BLM land. No structures are threatened. Caused by lightning, 30 mph winds are still going as of yesterday.
