Mice! Yuck. We haven't had any in our house, but after we moved in a couple found their way into the garage and ate a hole in the leather of my car's backseat. Needless to say, they were short-lived little vermin.

I was out in the south suburbs on Tuesday and didn't make it to Tallyn's Reach, but one person I spoke with said that rather obvious high tension lines run through the community. Obviously you're going to have wires running through many areas, but this person felt they were particularly intrusive in TR. Is that true for most homes out there (in TR) or only a select few?

Hmmm, I didn't notice them in Tallyn's but they are very obvious in Sapphire Pointe. I may have just missed them though as I have only made the one trip out there.

The old rule of thumb used to be if you plan on living in an area for less than five years, you should consider renting, but if you know you will be there beyond five years you should buy. In the current market, it might be a good idea to follow this coventional wisdom. The housing market could easily remain flat for the next 3-5 years, and even if your house appreciates a little bit, any profit might get eaten up by the realtors' fees and closing costs that you, as the seller, will have to pay. Just a word of caution.

That is the good thing about relocation deals. The company absorbs all those costs.

Default Welcome

I read through your thread and am happy to welcome you to Tallyn's Reach. We've lived here almost 5 years and are thrilled with the community. Unfortunately, we're being transferred to FL but it has been a pleasant experience. With the cost of gas, we have enjoyed being able to get almost everything we need within 5 miles of the neighborhood. Our kids have gotten a great education with the CCreek schools and...the best thing ever...we had forgotten that our home is a certified "green" home.

Funny, back in 2003 that didn't seem like such a big deal. But, now, it will really help our home stand out from the pack. I hope your experience here will be as good as ours. Good luck and welcome.

One big negative at Tallyn's Reach is the fact that so many places require getting on the E-470 tollway, the most expensive in the US per mile.

Sapphire Pointe is deceptively close to town, I-25 access and amenities -- and you actually have a small town (Castle Rock) to be a part of.
