I'm amazed, I didn't know Colorado, especially east of the mountains, resembled the typical desert southwest. Pueblo resembles Tucson minus palm trees and saguaros! Very fascinating to see the diversity in Colorado I never knew existed. At first glance I just think of cold, snow capped rocky mountains, but there's definetely everything the west-southwest has to offer all in the state.

IMO, anywhere yucca grows is classified desert whether high or low elevation.

Yucca grows in Southern California and perhaps elsewhere along the Pacific Coast.

High plains desert/prairie is how I would describe much of Colorado.
