We are Texans, tired of the heat, and wanting to start over somewhere
new...we are choosing Colorado...around the Cotopaxi area...I would like
to know if there is anything that I need to know about that area...I am
getting the *real estate* version of it (aka as peaches and cream...haha)and want to know if there is anything else that would be of help to us
as newcomers...if the home we are interested in sales before we can
attain the earnest money...we are interested in the Salida, Coaldale
and Cotopaxi area....possibly Westcliffe too....those are all sort of
situated in the same area...I am also like a lot of the other people that
are posting...this will be our first time to live in an area with snow...
do most adjust fairly well? I am wanting this to be a longterm move
for us...so any and all information would be appreciated...

Cotopaxi is really, really small. It's one of those "don't blink as you go by" towns. It may be just what you are looking for, but then again.........

Thanks to all who are answering...we are actually looking for seclusion...my
husband has a brain injury and I take care of him...so looking for work isn't
going to be an issue...we are looking to buy and actually are interested in
the Shaw's Trading Post if anyone has any information about it...I am, of
course, trying to do my own research...that's why I joined this forum...I
don't want to move somewhere without a clue...NewAge, as for the transition,
like I said, my husband sustained a brain injury in 2005...so change is our
middle name, and we are looking for a serene place to carry it out...
I have concerns about the methane drilling...and wondering about the
properties being acquired by the polyamist...although, I'm sure they aren't
interested in my family...and I was scared to read on here about the
alarming rate of MS....we are Texas born and raised and as a matter
of fact, if we make the move...our first Grandbaby will be the first one
in our family for generations that will not be born in Texas...so we are
hoping that we are making the right choice...
