Pueblo will be featured on PBS tomorrow night at 8. I am not sure if that is the show that I heard was at the job announcement but I thought I would mention it here.

This is from the Chieftain:

Pueblo will be featured in "View from Main Street" at 8 p.m. Friday. The segment was created by Larson to present a firsthand perspective of how the economy is affecting communities throughout the U.S.

It was that show. In case you missed it this is a link to it on the PBS web.

I really liked it and think it shows that PEDCo needs to continue their efforts to bring in primary jobs into Pueblo. Also, I like how they said Pueblo a city of 160,000 people as the city is only 110,000 but the MSA is 160,000 people but essentially the MSA is Pueblo so I can see why they would say that.

So you liked that they told an untruth. Why am I not surprised?

Pueblo county is 160,000 people and unlike most cities the majority of the population is in or near the city and the rest of the county is sparcly populated so I can see why they would say that. Would I have said that? No I would have said the Pueblo MSA is 160,000 people but this is not that far off.

From seeing the city it brought back memories from when we lived there! But I do agree that it was very informative about the current job state and economy. It was nice that they recognized that puebloians love their city so much that they all voted to raise taxes on themselves to help out their city! At least once pewag gets in there more people will have jobs!! The song was amazing that the young lady sang (can't remember her name, but her mom was a nurse and her father was laid off from the green energy plant can't remember that name either :/ )

Not really, the minimal jobs that Pwag will bring in will be offset by the continuing layoffs at Vestas.

Pueblo is seemingly predestined to never catch a break.

Pueblo has not grown like I would have liked it to but the city does have a lot to be proud of with the downtown/ riverwalk/ convention center, historic buildings, Colorado State Fair and the large historic buildings it has like the AG buildings and newer ones like the events center, 3 hospitals that are world class, community college that has campuses all over southern Colorado, CSU Pueblo that is the flagship school for the Pueblo region and as of OCT 15 2012 the number 1 ranked football team in the nation in D2, as well as the history Pueblo has, large manufacturing facilities like the steel mill, military installations, etc. I can see why regional planners say Pueblo will grow 11 times more in the next 30 years then it did in the past 50 as Pueblo has more amenities then most cities its size and even more then a lot of cities larger then we are.
