My family and I are always looking for great camping spots that we can also ride our ATVs. Please post only places that are ATV friendly, we too can't stand camping in a campground where someone brings thier ATV and shouldn't have. We have found several campgrounds that are beautiful and serene--no ATVs.
At this point, we know of only one area that is BLM by Lake George/Terryall where we can camp and ride. Anyone know of any other areas?

I don't have any recommendations, but bear in mind the non-motorized groups are very well organized and influencing the USFS to close off many areas to motorized recreation, so in the coming years you'll have fewer places to choose from if they have their way.

If the forest service is lacking in funds during these dour economic times, they'll just shut down a lot of trails altogether since there will be fewer resources to manage them with.

Best thing you can do is join the Blue Ribbon Coalition and COHVCO.

I'm looking for something similar to where we go now, Park County Rd. 31. The whole area is BLM land where there are several spots with already built fire pits and lots of ATV trails. Just past Lake George/the 11 mile reservoir turn off. Campers usually come out with a variety of campers, ATVs, horses, and guns during the summer. Nice area and close to Colorado Springs. Just wondering where else we can go like this in CO. The hunters usually have a good idea...

I'd suggest getting some BLM maps..they pretty much allow such activities everywhere.

We go to Michigan lake in State Forest state park campground. They have trails you can ride. This is just southeast of Walden,CO. Also just north of Walden the sand dunes state recreation park has camping and of course riding on the dunes on ATV is very fun for whole family.
