Wink If you love it

If you like Breckenridge, CO then go with it. I'd define the epicenter of Summit County as Silverthorne/Dillon, CO. Frisco, CO nearby. Each of these towns, despite their relative proximity, has its own personality so it depends on what you like. Areas of Silverthorne can be nice but in a sense there is no there there, while both Frisco and Breckenridge have well defined traditional downtowns.

If you like resort areas you'll likely love it. My two biggest concerns would be the pine beetles who are decimating the forests, and the high cost of living. My understanding is that many people do commute because of the high cost of housing. Leadville, CO for instance, or near Fairplay, CO if from Breckenridge. Both commutes involve crossing high passes, but if you have the proper vehicle and are competent it is doable, even in winter. Or you might consider heading north towards Kremmling, CO. Not an awful lot in that direction, and Kremmling, if you get that far, is not only not in Summit County but of a different mindset. The drive between Copper Mountain, CO and Frisco fairly quick and easy, but if any further east then you are dealing with Vail Pass. So, generally, stay off of I-70 and don't consider such a commute. Anything east of Eisenhower Tunnel would be a pain and problematic at times due occasional closures.

Summit County can be great but you have to like it well enough to want to be there.

West of the divide means just that, west of the divide. The continental divide runs north and south on the eastern edge of Summit County. The most common way to get over the divide is through the Eisenhower tunnel, on I-70, which is at the eastern edge of Summit County. So if you live east of the divide (East of Eisenhower Tunnel, Denver for example) then you will have to deal with traffic everyday getting to work. So it is best to live "west of the divide" in Summit County: Dillon, Silverthorne, Keystone, etc...

Depends on where you get a job in the County. We will have big snows this winter so I would stay within 8-10 miles of where you get a job. Oh, and west of the Divide means west of the Continental Divide.
