Then you can still rep someone anonymously by hitting the + sign on the bottom left, but don't have the option to comment.

Denverian: forward the DM to Katzenfreund. As Tree says, that poster is busted because they can't do that anonymously.
That sounds like the best solution -- you should definately suggest that to the forum owners. I'd prefer that anyways because I often forget to sign my name when I rep, and then there's no way for them to rep me back.

I don't know how much dev effort it would take for them to implement that, but Katiana's experience shows hat it really would be a good safeguard.

So far I've sent messages to 3 moderators and no responses. Maybe I should just post the DM in all it's nastiness on here. I'm sure that would get a moderator's attention!

No Denv, I wouldn't do that. Technically, you shouldn't really bring it up here at all. Katz, Yac, Administrator, Markablue... one of those will take care of it. I'd just be patient if I were you. I only speak this from experience; I'm not trying to be a know-it-all.

Tree, good idear. I posted that suggestion in the About Forums sub forum. But there again, due to the TOS, I won't discuss it any further here. It's up to them.

I wouldn't subject everyone else to it! I sent it to Katz - they don't really make it all the clear how to report something like this, but then I doubt that many people send a DM like this since you know exactly who did it. Oddly, it's no one I ever interracted with on CD, so no one "around here".

Did you forward the nastygram to the Mods? That should get someone's attention.

Hey Katiana! I've actually just started to get reputation points laced with nasty comments. It's actually rather funny, because whatever dumb@ss keeps wasting his time is actually giving me reputation...which is fine by me! Also, the Mods are probably going to delete the messages leaving the reputation only. Whoever it is is risking getting banned from City-Data creating all those accounts and yet not knowing how to handle them. Oh well. LOL.
