Hi everyone,
My family is from the Green Bay, WI area and are tossing around the idea of moving in summer of 2011 when my husband finishes school (Associates in Architectural Design). I'm having a hard time figuring out what area/cities might fit what we're looking for, so I thought I'd post to see if anyone could help. Here's our list:
1) Low crime/safe
2) Good schools
3) Land - right now we have 1.5 acres and would love to stay in that size
4) Hunting and fishing areas within a half hour drive
5) Warmer weather than WI (it's been in the 20's and below here lately)
From that list if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know!

Ahh yes, forgot that! Housing, we'd like to stay at $150,000 or under, if that's possible.

For 150K and 1.5 acres you are going to end up in La Junta or Walensberg or maybe Trinidad. Good luck. RP

To get 1.5 acres in a decent area on $150k you'll have to plant yourself on the plains. The drawback to that is that it's not very scenic by most people's standards, but it would meet most or all of your posted criteria. Try researching suburbs and towns east of the Denver or Colorado Springs metros, or anywhere east and south from Pueblo.
