Road construction is booming here though. There was that project, Bodo, and then starting next year Florida Road will be completely redone, that will be a large project as well.
When I left 8 months ago the whole town was under construction...road-wise anyway. As if it wasn't difficult enough to drive there, they had to tear everything up at once.
The bridge will be the new entrance of US-550 from the south. That is long overdue...as is widening it to 4 lanes all the way down to the border.
It is also good to know they are going to redo Florida...that is a nightmare, even without the cyclists. It needs to be 4 lanes + bike lanes and turn lanes all the way out to Edgemont at least. Unfortunately there's not much room along there, and I am sure there will be plenty of hippies up in arms about that though.

Jazzlover is right. I was just through Durango last Wednesday to visit friends in Albuquerque. The road construction is on the south end of 160/550 near Walmart. There just isn't anything going on in the southwestern corner of the state.
