Not sure if it is a rainbow or the light caused it when the photograph was taken.

Hesperus is a place-name for and the center of an unincorporated area of rural housing (subdivision and independent) that has about 2,000 people nearby. It is not a distinct official city, so far; therefore it is governed by the county. It is cheaper than Durango and is a fairly popular near-in alternative. But Bayfield to the east of Durango is often even cheaper than Hesperus.

I tend to take the mountains for granted
I was in CO last month for vacation and both my husband and I wondered how in the world so many could live there and not be awed by the beauty around them. And yet, it seemed like the majority of people we saw were rushing around completely oblivious to it.

Believe it or not, a lot of people in Denver have never been to the mountains.

After a sunny warm weekend, cool and stormy today. Rain and cool air feels nice.
