Can I say Thank you, to all of you who gave me information. The notes and tips are very useful. Especially areas to avoid, and who would have thought that I would even get wading safety advice.
I'm very excited about coming to Colorado. I am now reading a book on how American properties are bought and sold, and boy does that sound complicated. I'm concerned about discovering that my new Colorado mansion was built of matchwood on a flood plain, where there were frequent Tornadoes. American 'Soaps' don't make me feel safer, as they seem to portray something called 'Realtors' as something of a cross between a Shark and a Missisippi gambler. When I've finished reading the two books I'll probably ask another supplementary questions.

As a form of contributing something back to this system, I'd be pleased to answer any questions for those of you who are contemplating a visit to the UK so that you get the best out of your time there. I'm a professional guy who hasn't forgotten where I started from, I've had what I think is an excellent education, and I'm much travelled around the world through my business which I've now sold....in 2003 before the recession was even seen on the horizon.
Regards
Thank you.

One other thing to consider...real estate laws are state specific. Most real estate customs are local.

Actually the best trout fishing in Colorado is in Wyoming! If you love to ski as well as fish and can afford it you may want to check out Jackson Wyoming. Many places in Idaho offer great locations for both activities as well. North Fork of the Snake River comes to mind....

Not to start an argument, because I love Wyoming (particularly the Jackson Hole / Yellowstone area) and Idaho ... but I wasn't impressed with the fly fishing up there.

I was fishing the Salmon river in Stanley, not getting any strikes. Finally a local guy came up and told me not to waste my time, there are not any fish in the river! I asked him why, he said he only knows that there haven't been any for years.

I also tried a few other streams in different parts of Idaho without success. The only place I was able to catch any fish were in some creeks in the Sawtooth mountains. It was pretty cool, because they were either brookies or bull trout (I can't tell the difference because we don't have bull trout in Colorado). Just small ones, of course because it was a real small mountain stream.

But apart from that, nothing. And definitely no big fish.
