Looking to move to Breckenridge area with 3 kids, would love to speak to someone who already lives there.

What I always found with Colorado was that it is a zero sum game. For something you gain, you have to take something away. You'll have to compromise and figure out what works for you. And really the one way to do that is to take an extensive trip.

If you want the amenities of artsy stuff and shopping then ski areas like Breck and Vail have all that but you wont be having a spread with horses on it unless you live 30 minutes plus away. Ski resorts then probably wouldn't appeal.

One area you might want to look is out US 285 along that road up to Kenosha Pass.
