I'd also like to know where they get their info. It cannot be accurate.
"Air quality in Evergreen, CO is 22 on a scale to 100 (higher is better). This is based on ozone alert days and number of pollutants in the air, as reported by the EPA."
I think you're right, they threw Evergreen in with Denver stats.
I was curious so I checked out where I live. They rated my town 35 which is just silly. There are no air quality issues at 8300'. We are far above any inversion layer. There may be an occasional cold day when there is a little wood smoke haze but...

That's too bad. Has Evergreen developed a "haze"? I remember it being typical mountain air when I was there, but it could have changed for the aforementioned reasons.

There is no haze.

The only haze you see driving down the I70 from the divide is right over Denver, some days worse than others of course.

Sperling says they get their information from the EPA.

When I went to the EPA website the information they have is broken down by large areas within the state or county. They have no information for Evergreen itself. When you search for Evergreen they give you information for all of Jefferson County.

Given that Jefferson county spands from the flat lands by Denver to the mountains, I would say the information is misleading if you are looking at air quality just for Evergreen.

It also looks like they take UV into account when determining air quality. Most people think of smog and particulates only so I would say it would take some serious research and study to really understand exactly what the EPA is saying and how to differentiate between different locations etc..... I think two places could rate the same but have much different types of air.

The air quality in Evergreen is not from polluntion, Inversions keep it in Denver. If your worried about thin air most people adjust in a few months
