Where to move? Little/no snow& low crime & low housing costs (Denver: house)

Well, I have asked about every State out west. How about Colorado? We are looking for zero to little snow, low crime and low housing costs. Are there any cities that would fit that bill?

The only two that I know to have very little snow and be affordable is Grand Junction and Cortez. Cortez is small and a ranching town. Grand Junction is larger and a farming area. You can use your search engine to find more on these two areas. There is quite a bit of info on the internet on both.

Alamosa has little snow, and it's dry so you don't feel the cold as much.

However it does get very cold in the winters.

Also it has around 360 days of sunshine each year.

You might want to consider eastern Colorado. Really no "cities" to speak of east of the front range (Denver-Co Springs area) but the crime is low and the housing is a lot cheaper. The high plains do get some snow but it usually doesn't last too long. It's usually dry and windy...the summers can be very hot. Not sure about job prospects as it's mostly ranches and that sort of thing out that way...but just something different to consider.

I lived in Grand Junction for 2 1/2 years. Loved it. Not much snow but beware that in the summer it can easily get up to 105°. Most homes there have swamp coolers or AC (evap. coolers are much more energy efficient though).

It can remain pretty chilly though since it sits in a valley.

Cost of housing is lower than C Springs and probably in line with what Pueblo has.

Crime, average. Mostly in GJ it's teenagers doing stupid things. Had cars in the canal behind my house every so often when I lived there. Kids would steal them and drive them into the canal. It happened twice when I lived there. Usually in summer.

I never felt unsafe there, ever. Lived alone with a dog and two cats.

Nice community and surprisingly cozy even though the area is now considered a metropolitan area (Fruita, Clifton, Palisade, etc...along with GJ).
