Now that we see what has happened in Japan with multiple Nuclear Reactors melting down with the fall out headed our way (to the West Coast with landfall by Wednesday) courtesy of the Trade winds, what do people think of SCE&G building MORE nuclear reactors in SC 30 miles north of Columbia?
Evidently they've been given the go-ahead to do so and charge customers $40 per month higher rates to pay for it. That seems a little much. Who wants to pay MORE money for something so dangerous?
By the way, everyone make sure you are eating your miso soup and sea veggies which will strengthen your immunity (and your Thyroid) to resist radioactive iodine if we are unlucky enough to get it. You can get kelp tablets at the Vitamin Shoppe or Whole Foods.
Build Nuclear and drill ANWR! Time to take the sissy pants off, and build ourselves a future of enegry independence.
Amen!
Lets hope we don't go back on Nuclear like we've gone back on drilling in the gulf since last yrs accident.
Obama sure has done alot to get us off that foreign oil, hasn't he? LOL What a clown he is.
Nuke power still is one of the safest & most reliable forms of energy production out there. That fact remains.
Alex Jones, bless his heart, is like Michael Moore, except he comes from the right. Both are nutjobs.
I beg to differ. Do the research. Alex Jones broke all the news about the abuses by the TSA. Infowars.com is the one site that gets REAL news days if not weeks before the Mainstream so called "news" picks it up. When you so your homework you need to check more than the SPIN zones. PRIMARY resources are best.
Alex Jones is a FANTASTIC researcher; doesn't report on anything unless he's verified it. He is NOTHING like Michael Moore who is nothing but a shill for the Corporations.
Matt Drudge of Drudgereport.com links to InfoWars.com. Is Matt Drudge a nutjob too?
You say Nuke power is still "safe" whatever that means. If Coal is safer, wouldn't you want coal instead?

Maybe the nuclear plant that Duke is planning to build near Gaffney would be of more interest to you. Duke nuclear plant gets Florida investor - CharlotteObserver.com (http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2011/02/09/2048449/florida-utility-to-part-own-future.html - broken link)#
We need to rid ourselves of our dependency on FOREIGN fossil fuels. Nuclear is a clean alternative. It just needs a safe storage place.
