Anything other than the fast food restaurants, liquor store, and gym? I haven't seen anything about this site in a while. Do you have a link?

Kroger is about the only one I know of besides the Hardee's Nothing that hasn't really been discussed but the market should pick up this year and Killian's Crossing should have a few announcements.

I actually feel the opposite - PF Chang's and Cheesecake Factory are just mediocre chains - I'd much rather eat somewhere unique and local. Chain restaurants? Blah.

Those were just examples I would prefer anything new/different... if it was local all the better. Costco would be #1 large chain for us. McDonalds was extremely disappointing.
Oh well seems like it is going to be blah

@Matt, unfortunately you actually tend to have more of an inside scoop than @thestate, this column is just really bandying the Kroger opening and so the writer got a USC prof to weigh in on what typically follows a Kroger so more of a wishful thinking re 'taking off' then based on any real announcements coming around the corner.

NE Richland and VOS killed Dentsville and Columbia (Mall) Place and now it appears that Blythewood could do the same for NE Richland Cty

In a decade Blythewood will be the third largest City in the Midlands behind Lexington.

It's 2007 all over again. I thought the Northeast was languishing... maybe I'm wrong?

Don't worry, a Hardees is coming too to help sooth your disappointment about McDonalds. Much more upscale.......

And a Rush's, and a Chick-fil-A.

I do wonder how long it's going to be before either Blythewood or Columbia just up and annexes that area. Somehow I think I'd prefer Blythewood.
