I have to admit that after I read this article I had to google the Columbia Regional Sports Council...I had never heard of such an organization nor what its purpose would be in Columbia beyond coordinating local sporting events.. I didnt think that there was actually tourism in sports beyond your college sports and a few tournaments held by High Schools and what not.. Even then I would have thought that they would be coordinated by those colleges and the school district. It seems that there is a growing industry in sports tourism and Columbia has the facilities.. given its foundation as a college town to promote various sports venues.... good deal
