We are moving either to NE Columbia probably in the Lake Carolina area, Lexington, Or Irmo area. With that being said our choice will come down to schools. Can anyone give advice with regards to preschools. We do not want a glorified daycare. We have looked into Lake Carolina early learning and also Chesterbrook Academy. Does anyone have any insight on these places or any others I may not know about? Thank you!

Have you looked into the child development programs offered by the elementary schools/school districts? Richland District Two has an excellent program for 3 & 4 year olds. Go to https://www.richland2.org/sccd/Pages/Application.aspx for application info. These are full day programs taught by teachers who usually have masters degrees and many years of experience. You can even do Montessori if you like. There is usually a wait list, but when I lived in Lake Carolina it only took a few months to get a spot for my daughter at LC Elementary. Then my husband accepted a job in TN, and I still regret leaving such a great school district.
