I've only been to the one in Greenville. They have lots of big TVs....all with sports on them. They served upscale pub food and craft beer in a casual setting. The description on google says it's a "high end sports bar chain" Again, this is a concept we're quite familiar with in the Vista (World of Beer, Old Chicago, Liberty, Hickory Tavern etc. etc. but I'd be happy to have another one.

Yard House and WOB aren't sports bars. Anyone can write Google descriptions. They don't mention sports on their website. Everyone has sports on TV. Go to Applebees tonight and they'll likely have the NBA playoffs on TV, still not a sports bar.
Yard House and WOB are like Bar Louie, focusing on craft beers and how many beers are on tap, plus other drink specialties.
But youre right, maybe downtown already has many good beer restaurant options. Just feel it could add to the downtown vibrancy and atmosphere better than if it went in the suburbs on Harbison or Sandhills.
But it's theoretical. Columbia is likely still too small.
