I'm interested in homes in Shandon and some areas of Rosewood. I went to Richlandonline.com to try to figure out an estimate.
I looked up for a house costing around $200,000 that property tax estimate is $5,569. Is that correct? It states that it's not including the trash pickup.

That is way, way off - it would be more like $1500 - $2000 or so.

Yea, I think i figured that. Did you see my other posts? Would it be more like $5,000 if it's rental? Since you have to multiply by .06 instead of .04 and the millage rate is higher for a rental.

I did - it wouldn't be $5000 even if it was a rental. The rental rate would be the ownership rate times 1.5.
when I went to Richlandonline.com, when i chose as not legal resident, it came up as multiplying by .06 and then multiplying by millage rate of .4931. That comes up as $5,917.20. Then, it subtracted some other stuff to total $5,569. Again, this is for rental.

That sounds awfully high, but I don't know a lot about rental property.
Edit: I looked mine up and if my home were rental property the taxes would be about triple as they are on an owner-occupied residence so the $5569 may be right. If it's in the city limits then you don't have to add for solid waste pickup. That said, a $200,000 home would be unusually expensive for rental property.
If you live there it's .04 x millage rate (.06 otherwise). General rule of thumb around town is 200k should be around 1500-2000. In rural areas maybe half that. You can look at the previous years taxes online for Richland and Lexington Co as well.
