Hey guys, I have frequented this site a good bit over the years and I have always had to wade through all kinds of threads for various areas around Lexington to get little nuggets of information. What I want to try and do is have a centralized thread for any retail and food outlets in the Lexington County area as a whole with a consolidated thread instead of having to hunt around.
If you guys could add what you hear around town to this thread so we can try and verify new retail & dining locations being discussed or confirmed in the area, that would be awesome! I'll start it off with what I know of from recent discussions.
As of 3/22/2015:
- O'Reilly Auto Parts is confirmed on Highway 378 basically across from K-Mart (next to Autozone, Advanced Auto Parts, and Lexington Urgent Care).
- Hardee's is relocating to the old BP gas station area on Highway 378 also across from the Taco Bell & K-Mart area.
- I hear some rumblings of a possible Captain D's going in where the current (soon to be old) Hardee's location is on Highway 378 next to Bi-Lo and Little China/Bojangles. I can not confirm this though.
- A new Waffle House has been built on Highway 378 at the Bi-Lo/Publix intersection right off of Charter Oak Road. It's officially open now.
- There will be an amphitheater somewhere around Main Street (close to the Court Houses) that will serve as a show/concert venue seating around 900.
- I have heard there will be a Dunkin' Donuts and/or a Smashburger coming to the Lexington Area (probably towards the Target/Best Buy area).
- Talk of a new Movie Theater (not the Drive-In at West Columbia) also fairly certain in the area. Not exactly sure where it will be though, but down 378/Interstate area seems likely.

A convenient store/gas station is being built right plump in the middle of the residential area of Barr Rd. It will be on the corner of Barr and Rawl Rd!
I'm right down the road from this station and feel awful for the folks in those nice homes that will ow be watching people pump gas from the front porch of their formerly 300K+ home... Could not believe that station is going up there.
