Located at 7510 Two Notch Road. Looking to stay here for a soccer tourny. I heard it was recently refurbished. Anyone have any idea if it's a decent place in a safe area?

Thanks,

Mark

I attend business seminars there about once a year. I also grew up in that part of town, and I remember when the place was built in the mid-80's - it was a Holiday Inn until about 4-5 years ago.

I have no idea about the rooms, because I had no reason to stay there, living only 20 minutes away. But, judging by the lobby and conference areas, before the remodeling, it was definitely a dump. I was there in December, when the remodeling was mostly finished, and the place still was a dump - resembling a remodel job done on the cheap. Lots of water damage still visible on the ceiling, cheap hotel furniture in the lobby area and nasty public bathrooms with ashtrays stuffed to the brim with cigarette butts... The restaurant was closed for remodeling, but it was previously your typical early-80's suburban motel fern bar type of environment.

As far as the area, it's not particularly unsafe, and there are plenty of typical chain restaurants (Chili's, Outback, etc.) within a few blocks. It's definitely one of those 70's suburban areas that has seen better days though, if you know what I mean.. Not sure where you're tournament is, but if it's on Polo Rd., I'd recommend something in the Clemson Rd. area over staying there...

I haven't been in there since it was renovated. The area is fine, but I don't know how nice the motel is since it was renovated. I think it's a decent, middle-of-the -road motel.

Hi, I am there every Tuesday giving seminars to medicare members, I love it. The hotel rooms are pretty and comfortable, and the meeting rooms are spacious and the staff is very attentative. Oh and there is a great coffee shop in the lobby and the restaurant has great meals too!
