BI-LO #58 became BI-LO #558 in 2001 after Ahold, BI-LO's then-parent company, acquired Bruno's, combined Bruno's with BI-LO, and renumbered BI-LO stores to prevent duplicate numbers with Bruno's stores. BI-LO #558 became BI-LO #5558 in 2012 after BI-LO acquired Winn-Dixie and all BI-LO stores were renumbered in the 5### range.
I have heard speculation BI-LO #5558 could be closing. Southeastern Grocers, parent company of BI-LO, Fresco y Más, Harvey's Sueprmarket, and Winn-Dixie, has been reported to possibly file for bankruptcy and close approximately 200 stores. BI-LO #5558 competes against hypermarket
