Not sure about one in Irmo but there is Julia’s that recently moved from Ft Jackson Blvd to Sparkleberry Crossing.
As far as business’s I’d like to see in Cola, Top Golf would be my clear #1.
There was one (a good one, Karls???) in the Harbison area that later moved to St Andrews Road, then closed. Julia's has limited menu consisting of mainly Schnitzel and they use to deep fry it. I have been meaning to give it another chance in their new location, but the menu is still limited.
1. Dim Sum place - Carts rolling around type place
2. Frye's as others have suggested (Don't imagine them opening another B&M in the post-Amazon era)
3. New York Pizza place that sells slices
Honorable Mention - A Bagel joint in the northeast - Panera doesn't count.
The few Shoney's remaining are not as good as they used to be. And I remember back in their heyday with the Big Boy statue out front. They still have Frisch's Big Boy in Kentucky and Ohio, and Bob's Big Boy in California. And the national Big Boy remains in Michigan, the former Elias Bros.

Shoney's doesn't know what it wants to be, an identity crisis similar to Bob Evans. At one time their spaghetti with meat sauce and garlic bread was the gold standard --- I grew up on that stuff! --- but then they replaced it with some baked concoction. They want $5.99 for a piece of strawberry pie. No thanks. It's good, but it's not that good.

I would like to see Shoney's join the Big Boy franchise again. Back in their heyday that's when they were most successful.
I only really do Shoney's for the Breakfast Bar. And since the closest is in Camden, I haven't been able to go for a long time. I don't think I have had lunch/dinner in a Shoneys in more than 20 years.

1) Themed restaurant downtown (Hard Rock, D&B etc)
2) City Target
3) Cinema downtown (I know, COVID)
I am a little biased towards downtown.... get some entities with great draw and retail will follow.
