Hello, all

Myself and family are moving from Michigan and I need all of the help that I can get. I have a ten year old daughter and I am interseted in things like what are the best suburban cities to live and excellent schools systems. I was told to live it Columbia but from my research I have found that there are lots of gang activity there is this true? Also my sis and I both work in the electronic assembly field and we would like to know the best cities for manufacturing employment. We are looking to rent and pricing is not an issue for us. I live in the suburban area of MI and we are in seach of the same. What other information you might want to add will be helpful also, thanks so much. Can't wait to read your responses

While there certainly are gangs here I don't see them as a widespread problem, just in certain neighborhoods. In terms of electronic assembly, Bose has a large plant in the Columbia area. There are a number of good suburban school districts in the area, including Richland District 2 and Richland/Lexington District 5.

Hey, good luck with your move and new life. I've heard it is tough economically in Michigan these days. You may want to look at Greenville, SC as well. The BMW plant announced an expansion recently and I have heard the pay is well above average for our area. KEMET electronics is another local company but I believe they may be in a lay-off cycle. I don't know thing about the school districts but Simpsonville and Greer are two suburban areas of Gvl you may want to look into. Those areas are booming right now so there must be something good going on over there. Again, good luck and God bless.
