just spray your place, and likely the only ones you'll see inside are on their back. It took us some getting used to seeing them around, but the lack of a hard killing frost and deep deep snows was a good trade off to deal with the occasional bug and higher humidity.

As for the snow, it was just a hardship dealing with it all the time back in WI.
Now with it coming down outside, we can actually appreciate how beautiful it can be..

I will say this. I live in Columbia and feel like you have to have rocks in your head to live in a state with one of the worst poverty, crime, and education stats in the country....and NOT live by the ocean. Rural SC is among the poorest parts of the emtire country. I would vote vigourously for the coast.
BTW: the area "in between" Columbia and charleston is one of the poorest in the country. I would go with Greenville for mountains, Chaleston or another coastal town for ocean.
Palmetto Bug= Cockroach with a marketing degree.

I personally would put this post in the South Carolina forum instead of the Columbia subforum so wont have as much biased opinions.
