Columbus metro area adds 400 jobs over past year after the posts of BRAC,KIA and a hundred other local projects.......................I think it is a little late in the game for more projections from Columbus1984 or Selig and shows without a doubt that Columbus is in serious trouble with upcoming BRAC surge of over 12K dependents looking for work...........Meanwhile, Georgia’s unemployment rate hits all-time high of 10.4 percent even after postive employment growth nationwide according to MSNBC etc..............VERY BAD NEWS........

Again you don't read the article and report all of the info. Columbus was one of only a few cities in Georgia to add jobs. Doesn't include the 180 from Pratt Whitney either. Please report the truth and stop deceiving the viewers.

Here's the rest of the story:
Ledger-Enquirer.com | 03/04/2011 | Columbus metro area adds 400 jobs over past year (http://www.ledger-enquirer.com/2011/03/04/1483643/metro-area-adds-400-jobs-over.html - broken link)
This might help.

Columbus was one of the only cities in Georgia to add jobs, and with GA unemployment at 10.4 percent I think adding is much better than taking away no matter what the number.

WARNING: WARNING: WARNING: WARNING: WARNING:

Over and over (and over and over again), bickering takes over a thread in the Columbus topics.

There are a handful of people in here who "play" under multiple screen names for what purpose I have no real idea. But each time, you will see 2-4 people going at it under a dozen or more names, every time anything that has to do with Columbus comes up. That's going to end now.

You folks can decide if you want this room to remain open or not, but if this stuff continues as it has over the last few months, I can tell you the room will be closed... and you will not be taking it into the Georgia room. If you wish to keep it open, the I strongly suggest the bickering, poking, prodding, egging on, discussing other members, and fighting - stop.

-end .

Going back on topic. I think its great that Columbus is adding jobs. I left C-town because I couldn't find a professional job. When I left I was making $6.15 an hour part time and I had just lost my job substitute teaching because of summer vacation. So it kinda sucks that I had to leave my hometown because I couldn't find a job in my field. I'm glad things are getting better.
