Trust me they will end up a big city
With their size no doubt
They just might have a long way to go, Savannah tallest building is a charity home
So if Columbus hasn't made it to Savannah's level
Then they truly have a long while

Just making an observation. Ever since I knew that I was moving to Columbus, GA - I've been visiting these forums. And I'm amused on an almost daily basis how much "my town is better than yours because" goes on here. I came from Atlanta, unquestionably the largest metropolitan area in Georgia.

And yes, I get homesick still for Atlanta - but I don't miss the traffic at all. I do miss my friends that I left behind that I can't call up and meet for dinner on any given night - a bit more planning is involved. I still miss Aldi, Trader Joe's and Whole Foods (and no - The Fresh Market is not a substitute for Whole Foods). Every time I go back to Atlanta, I take a huge cooler with me and stock up.

But that's beside the point. It's amusing to me why people get so invested in this online "battle" of who's better or bigger or more this or more that. Columbus is much smaller than I'm used to - but there's nothing about it I can say I don't like - well, with the exception of the Chick Fil A in Midland never having biscuits ready at 6 a.m. and trying to get me to get my chicken on a bagel instead, but that's another story.

I guess my point is - why do people get so emotionally invested in who's is bigger than who's?
