It sounds like the City of Columbus needs to do some serious thinking on this. Maybe, they can help them find sponsors. It would be horrible to lose $1.2 million. Montgomery would get the game over Phenix City.

Leaving because of the lack of corporate support? Yeah ok,I just seen the commercial about the game last night on WTVM.

They just want to move the game to Montgomery.

Edit....

WTVM just posted this.....

Default Hits keep on coming this week.

Tuskegee-Morehouse Classic moving out of Columbus

After nearly 90 years, it seems to finally be happening. Columbus' last out-of-town college matchup appears to be leaving, destined for Birmingham. Kind of sad to lose this long standing tradition, especially for our black community.

I'll throw an idea out into the digital ether, a Fort Valley vs Albany State Classic in Columbus.

Columbus doesn't promote its black history. They like hiding it better. Look at the Liberty District for starters, then the Carver Heights area in midtown. It's not deserved anymore.

Attendance has gone down each year for this game. It’s not that big of a deal in my opinion.

Quite the opposite, in fact, nearly a 100% increase in attendance over the last 5 years. It's probably not a big deal for most white people in the area. It's primarily a loss in the black community.

How is Columbus "hiding its black history?"
