My husband and I are looking to relocate to Columbus, Ga. We will be moving with my daughter and 2 year old granddaughter so it must be nice and in a safe area. I really like Whisperwood, The Crossings, and Hamilton Station/The Palm.

I called Whisperwood and found the employee to be a real jerk and annoying. The rent is reasonable but the fees just to move in are insane.

I also called Hamilton Station recently changed to The Palm they are building the facilities I liked offered at the Whisperwood although they will not have as many pools. So I really like this for a option.

I will be calling The Crossings Soon

Any one know of a nice apartment within the $600-800 range I would appreciate it. I want something nice and have park area on grounds for my granddaughter.

Also The Palm is located on Double Churches Rd and they have a elementary school close by. Does anyone know if its nice and what grocery stores are near by.

I'm not sure where the Palm is located but I think Double Churches Rd is in a nice area. It is fairly close by the Bradley Park area where there is Publix and Target. The eastern end of Double Churches road is also near Columbus Park crossing where there is a wide variety of shopping including a Walmart and Winn-Dixie in that area.

I've lived in Whisperwood before and enjoyed living there, although yes the fees for both moving in and out were both very high.

What fees did it cost you to move out of Whisperwood? A lady just called me back and gave me totally different information than what the man I spoke with yesterday did! Huge difference in move in fees to say the least.

Move-in fees are bad economics IMO - get people in, keep them happy and they keep paying you.

The Palms is in a pretty good location - Publix or Winn-Dixie are your Grocery stores, plenty of retail and food options close by. Double Churches Elementary & Middle School I'd put in the mid to high end of other available schools.

Whisperwood is also in a good spot and the area is seeing a lot of redevelopment

Whisperwood is a good complex, loved living there when I was younger. They just sold the property to an out of town company, you could see some amenity upgrades soon there.

As always, Greystone and Woodruff manage some awesome properties - I would check there.
