I need to look more into it, but I believe the idea was to attract military contractors. Not sure where that project is currently, but I see Columbus/Ft. Benning as a step up from some other options out there. We lose out to Warner Robins due to 75, but the potential is there.

It either got stalled or there isn't enough money to fund it.

Yeah because the sign is right by the interstate
and you are very right about 75
Macon and Warner Robins have far much of a chance of getting money
75 splits straight through the whole country
185 is like a scenic route and much of a set off of the main road
unless 185 is extended well...
I really see no hope for the future or either Ft Benning or Columbus
