Columbus Regional just purchased Main Street Village in North Columbus for nearly $5 million. With the ongoing development of Northside Hospital and the Hughston Clinic, sounds like they are positioning themselves for further expansion on the northside of the city.

More than likely redevelop the space into offices or tear everything down and build new buildings.

I'm going to miss Main Street Village, spent many good times there in the 1980s, at White's Book Store for art supplies, printing poetry chapbooks and mini comix zines at X=Press Printing, having countless tacos and burritos at the old Del Taco on the corner. Even more good times at Country's BBQ... while across Weems Road from there were acres and acres of forest, my brother-in-law and his family had permission to deer hunt up in there... now of course that's the massive Columbus Crossing shopping megopolis...

Anyone know if this will include the stores that are facing Veterans and Whittlsey such as where Country's, The Egg and I, etc are located. I'm assuming that is not actually part of Main Street Village and the Village part is just the part that is in the back part of that shopping center. I remember that being quite a active shopping area when I was a kid. Sadly it kind of got tucked away in the back with no good anchor to give people a reason to go back there.

I wonder did American Eye Care helped them with this decision.

Hmm that seems like a strange purchase. There are a few open buildings and offices they could use, but buy the whole shopping center?

Ok it still doesn't make since for a hospital to buy a shopping center for doctor offices in a major retail shopping area. Right in this area is a major retail area with lots of shopping establishments north columbus is the major shopping retail hub of the city which include columbus park crossing and many more. It's going to be kinda weird seeing doctor offices going into a high traffic major retail hub area. If im not mistaken this is the small shopping center that's near country's bq if this is so then this is a major retail area. I think this was a waste of $4.35 million columbus regional is struggling I heard they had too layoff 200 workers awhile back and they just sold 13 office buildings of their own I don't see them expanding anytime soon if there struggling.

They purchased the property not to be in the realty business, they'll more than likely allow Jordan Company to continue to lease these spaces in Main Street Village.

They're in the process of opening an Emergency Room 160~ room hospital at Northside Medical Center. People that live in North Columbus will more than likely love to have an emergency room in North Columbus and they're simply securing the LAND next to their current hospital. Brilliant business move.

Regarding the American Eye Care comment - what do you mean? These properties is owned separately.
Regarding the Wing Stop, Egg & I, and Country - all of these are separately owned.

About them selling 13 office buildings they sold, they sold them because now makes them tenants and not owners and tenants - great way to get some capital and take alot of the load off them. Buildings are some elses problem, they're just there to provide healthcare.
