Carmike Cinemas, the company headquartered in Columbus, has agreed to be sold to AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc. in a deal worth about $1.1 billion, the two companies said in a release.

I'm wandering how this will affect our theaters here since they will become AMC? Will the ticket prices go down? I've heard AMC in Atlanta was cheaper than Columbus movie tickets. I'm not expecting much in the immediate future other than them changing the signs. I know a theater was shown on the site plans for Riverchase in Phenix City I'm assuming it was a Carmike theater. Of course those plans were a few years old.

Looks like the Carmike building will sit empty around this time next year.

That property will sell quickly. It sits on Broadway which seems like the one place people want to spend money downtown.

I'm from Cali and AMC was all over the place. I Enjoyed their rewards program... Hopefully this will be good!!! And they better keep their IMAX screens!!
