I believe local chef driven - they want a lot of the crops to come from WC Bradley's farms.

Hotel Indigos always have a local restaurant, there's not a standard generic restaurant.

WC Bradley certainly has its hands full with all of its awesome projects! Hopefully, renovation/restoration (using historical credits) of its namesake Bradley Theater won't be too far off! It's probably big enough for a 4-plex or a 6-plex, and would give students, folks living downtown, and hotel guests the opportunity for "dinner and a movie" all WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE! The Rialto would be great for live entertainment, amateur theater, and small business meetings and conferences.

WC Bradley set to receive $33,000,000 in Uptown TAD funding tomorrow for 1,056 space parking garage, below 125,000 sqft Class-A office space, another 250 apartments, retail, 14 townhomes, 27,000 sqft retail, a 28,000 sqft grocery store. It's looking to be around total investment of $166 million including the $25 million hotel.

I read those documents. Do they have to complete the project in a certain time frame? Ram is getting some TAD money for alley improvements near the AC Marriott. I just hope they actually start these soon. WC Bradley announced the office building years ago. The grocery store down there is really a must at this point.

It's the pay as you go, so they'll get the money as they complete the improvements that will increase the tax roll for the property. It's a pretty smart setup and drives development that wouldn't happen otherwise. $33m for parking garage is a bit much, but he made a good point in the presentation that WC Bradley can barely make the economics work on this project, so it's all or nothing and if anything that scared them into support for it.

This is ALL great news! Growth begets growth, and Columbus's growth has been behind Georgia's other 2nd tier cities---until now!! Kudos to WC Bradley and the city and citizens of Columbus!! I was curious about the grocery store size. According to Google: The Fresh Market thrives on a small-box format with an average store size of 21,000 square feet. In contrast, the stores at Whole Foods Market and Sprouts Farmers Market are much larger, averaging about 38,000 square feet and 27,000 square feet, respectively.
