Few updates on the project:

1) Rafting is set to begin in June!

2) Final demolition of the Eagle & Phenix Dam will be finished in 2 months

3) Breaching has already started on the City Mills Dam

4) On tap to draw 144,000 out-of-town visitors within the 1st yr. Economic impact projected to be $44 million annually

5) A CSU study estimates the Whitewater Project will create 700 jobs, generate more than $2 million in new tax revenue,
and bring an estimated 1.5 million people to the riverfront!

Hopefully this will result in additional hotels, restaurants, and retail to the downtown area.

It would be great if Uptown Columbus had a true genuine Italian restaurant, not a restaurant with an Italian name, but a genuine Italian restaurant. A good bakery would be great too. A place where you can find made form scratch cakes, muffins and pies. Does anyone know if Downtown Columbus would welcome these ventures, is there a market for made from scratch baked goods in Columbus. Something along the lines of Magnolia bakery in NYC. I think EPIC set the standards high for everything else to come, which is a great thing.

Meritage cafe in midtown is nice. I think Columbus would fully support I nice Italian restaurant downtown. Are looking to open something? Corner Bakery near the airport is an excellent place for baked goods.

Columbus looks like a forest.
Where will the course officially begin? They're not breaching North Highlands Dam are they?

North Highland is not being breached to my understanding. The put in point is somewhere in Bibb City just south of the Hwy 80 bridge. The course is around 2.5 miles long with the major rapids in the downtown Columbus area.

We can only hope with time! I think it will spur some hotel development eventually.
