Hello all,
I am a military guy who will retire this summer and relocate to possibly Lancaster. My job is is Athens but a friend of mine's sister was raped and left in a police car a few years ago so I will not raise my family in Athens. Sure, it could happen anywhere but... Anyway, I was hoping you could suggest a decent 2-3 BR home/apartment I could set my family up in until I return from overseas duty. Lancaster, Logan and Nelsonville are what I was thinking but I don't know this area from Moses so any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

Lancaster to Athens is going to be a HAUL. It's a longer drive than it looks. Logan will still be kinda far, but not as bad. There's a decent amount of rentals in Logan I feel, but I have no idea about furnished places. Nelsonville is not really that nice (other than location), but they do have Hocking College there, so you might have more luck getting an apartment/condo type place at a recent rate that's possibly furnished. The problem is going to be finding a place that isn't targeted at seasonal visitors who are there for the parks. There are a LOT of vacation homes in the area, so they are often priced accordingly. I'm more familiar with the Lancaster area, but I just feel like it's going to be a long drive to Athens. If you're up for it, I can give you some info some other time...it's getting late tonight! =)
