This forum is about cities, not lifestyles; however, your concern might best be directed at heterosexual people who make Columbus their home--so please don't be surprised if many of their observations differ radically from you own.

Laws?
There are some places it's illegal to be gay?

I'm talking about domestic partnership benefits, equal opportunity laws, anti-discrimination policies, etc.

As the above link points out Columbus is one of the most LGBT friendly cities in the Midwest in terms of it's LGBT policies and laws.

The above list explains all of the laws and city policies they examined. Examples are same sex couple domestic partner registry (which the city began just the past year), police departments having LGBT friendly policies, employment/discrimination protections, city schools having lgbt friendly bullying policies, etc. Of course Columbus has all of the above and more and that's why it is ranked well.

Yeah, though I kind of got the impression a few were trying to say that being gay friendly was not a net positive for a city.

Are we talking about laws or people's behavior?

nyaaa
The last thing I read and saw about some people who are kids who are now Ohio state students and how they dragged a drunk / drugged girl from party to party and raped her multiple times.
Some of the guys were on youtube talking about raping her and peeing on her.
She was 16 at the time they raped her multiple times.

wonder how that girl feels about it being a great place to date?
