Being that it's surrounded by the hood on all sides, are there tons of vandalism and break ins?

Crime can and does happen anywhere, but Bexley itself typically has low crime. And the neighborhoods to the east, especially, are on the upswing as far as gentrification, while crime overall in the city is going down.

Yes, but how is the crime relative to a place like New Albany? I'd imagine far less break ins there?

There are more crimes in Bexley than New Albany, but given population differences (Bexley is about 2x more populated), actual crime rates are pretty much the same.

The area just to the east of Bexley is Eastmoor, which in many ways is indistinguishable from Bexley with nice homes and lots of families. Eastmoor borders Bexley at Gould Road and goes east to James Road. It's once you get past James that things get a bit dicey. To the south of Bexley is Berwick, which is also a nice area. The areas to the north and west of Bexley are a little rough. I've never felt unsafe in Bexley, it reminds me a lot of Shaker Heights in Cleveland.

Bexley is now off my list. I liked it's proximity to Ohio State.

Bexley is safe, and a great place to run/walk/jog with a lot if interesting places to see while you do it (unlike some of the more bland areas of Columbus). There are a few streets off of Livingston which are technically inside the Bexley city limits that aren't as nice, but 99.99% of Bexley is completely safe and rather enjoyable to jog in. But like the other posters said, once you cross the tracks (literally) on the western edge of Bexley, the neighborhood shifts rapidly.

Bex DOES NOT have lots of interesting things to see. It has the small section on Main Street and that's about it. Broad St. has nothing to see and nor does the inner part of Bex.

It's old money and well maintained homes. Maybe that's what you're speaking about.

No, it's not GV, VV, Short North, Chicago, or NYC interesting, but it's a better place to be on foot in my opinion, than say, Bethel or Sawmill Roads where I see people jogging quite often. If I wanted to count fast food chain restaurants while jogging, I would go up to Bethel.
