I live in Columbus, and was wondering what kind of vacation spots are around (within a 3 to 4 hour drive)? Ideally, I'd like to find a place on a lake where me and my girlfriend could rent a place for the weekend, rent jet skis, etc.

Well, there is Lake Loramie north of Dayton. There is Grand Lake in Saint Marys, which is sort of like a big mud puddle. That about taps my knowledge. I am interested to learn more from other posters.

In 3 hours you can be on Lake Erie.

Lake Erie is the best. Great places to stay up there. Indian Lake is also an excellent place.

Than you'd better look in Michigan.

Mackinac Island is one popular spot.

Plenty up that way.

Ohio does about $40 billion in tourism per year, which is way up there when it comes to state tourism and is rather surprising, but apparently there are tons of day trips to be had in the state. Cedar Point, Kings Island, the Hocking Hills, Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Lake Erie Islands, etc.

I'll give you credit, although we don't always agree, you do keep up with what's going on in Ohio.

While the island is beautiful it's about a 8 hour drive from Columbus.
