Ok, I understand the end product of all this will be great, but did they really need to do it all at once? The campus almost looks like it was bombed and is now being rebuilt.

I always liked construction. It always makes things appear like they are progressing forward. I would much rather have to deal with construction than to have a stale city that slowly falls apart from lack of investment and interest.

I will grant you that the scope of the projects going on on Campus are very large. About $2 billion in development is either under construction or in the works. Not to mention how much is going on around the urban core from Weinland Park down through Downtown.

I knew the campus part is not as bad as the medical center. Of course, this expansion and development/redevelopment is great. Still, I agree with the, "Why all at once?" comment. Having driven down Cannon at rush hour, I remembered it was sometimes gridlock. I also heard that John Herrick is closed.

Do they still have the officers directing traffic at Cannon and 10th and the 315 on-ramp?

I'm looking forward to seeing the medical tower completed.

Closing the Ackerman/Dodridge Bridge for OVER ONE YEAR is ridiculous and outrageous. A small bridge that size shouldn't take over a year to rebuild. Each time I go by it, all I see is equipment and nobody working. The football traffic, student traffic, and area traffic has been traumatized by this. It's costing extra time and gasoline to work around the miles of long detours. Horrible. When winter comes, it will be worse.

Does anyone know if the bike route along the Olentangy is also CLOSED at the Ackerman foot bridge? thanks

I heard from OSU's construction website that the bike path is also closed at the Dodridge/Ackerman bridge. Not sure if they have posted detours.

Thanks for the info.

wow, so the students are also up chit creek for a year without the bike path? So many of them used it to commute safely. I'll bet the "detour" is High St. sighh

I'd still like to know why a tiny bridge like that takes over a year to repair/replace, whatever. That's atrocious! They should work day and night and have it done before the snow falls.
