I am thinking about taking a job in Columbus, OH working at OSU. We are a young African American family. We have a six year daughter, 2 year old son, and a newborn. I am looking for a neighborhood that is diverse, has great schools (name them if you want)/diverse schools, and one that is safe to live. I want my child expose to diversity and I do not want her to be the only African American in her class. I also want her to have great education. We are 27 and want to be near others who are raising small children/family, friendly, and have great values. Please help and respond

Clintonville would be a city neighborhood that sounds like it would have a lot of what you are looking for. If you're looking to the suburbs, Gahanna has a lot of diversity, good schools and is safe and family-friendly.

I lived in Reynoldsburg for six years, my extended family has for over 30 years. It's very diverse and has in recent years improved education dramatically. When we first moved there, schools we just ok, but now the schools are one of the better districts in the area. I've never had a problem with safety, though there are some less than reputable apartment complexes around Brice Rd (never a problem unless you live there) I relocated out of state sadly and miss my neighborhood very much. There was a real sense of community.
