I am trying to design a bedroom for my two teenage boys. The bedroom is 12' x 11' and they both want to kind of have their own space. I know this is kind of small for two teenage boys but the good thing is that their closet is big enough for me to put their dressers in their closet so they can have more space. If anyone have any ideas please let me know.

What's your budget? Do want desks in the room? I'd recommend loft beds with desks underneath them.

I'm in college now, living in a house with a 9'x9' bedroom and a small closet. It works out well, but here's a couple things I figured out along the way:

1. Buy a bed with a trundle, and put a bunkie board in the trundle. Makes a great place to put folded clothes
2. Buy shelves.
3. Use a small table as a desk
4. Put the desk or bed under the window since rarely is there ever a reason to put anything above either
5. Buy one of those over-the door coat hangers if you don't mind the door frame getting scratched up

Shelves are great because they can hold a lot of stuff. I have one set of shelves with a TV, DVD/gaming systems, printer, Microwave, mini-refrigerator, alarm clock, and my charging station. I even have room to put more stuff if I would like, but I have enough room as it is haha. The other set holds all of my food, tools, games, paper products, bottled water, office supplies, and shoes. Tip - put the TV on the top shelf and the set of shelves in a corner so it can be seen easily from most points in the room.

The shelves don't have to be expensive, my two sets were $35 each from IKEA. And they actually look pretty decent, but I will admit I am a big fan of the look of natural pine - the lighter the wood the better for me.

My previous room was actually 12'x11' without a closet, and I was able to fit in a full-sized couch, a small nightstand, and a very large IKEA closet in addition to the shelves, bed, desk, and a small set of shelves. And it felt roomy - I'd often invite people over to hang out in my room and they could do it easily with all of the space.

Good luck!
