What are the best places to live that are lowest in crime in Columbus and an easy commute to downtown for work? Looking for something quiet and residential, as in houses and duplexes with green space, not rows of apartments. Thanks.

I'm assuming you are renting? What is your budget? Are schools important? And are you commuting downtown by car, bike, or public transit?

My first instinct is to recommend the 5xNW neighborhood (between Grandview Heights and Upper Arlington) because there are a lot of duplexes there with green spaces in the back. Upper Arlington and Grandview proper have those types of properties as well. All 3 are safe areas within 10 minutes of downtown (except for some of the farther reaches of Upper Arlington).

Yes, rentals. Thanks! 10 minutes for a commute is very reasonable! I thought I was looking at a 30-minute commute and not liking that at all. I have 2 dogs - no "aggressive breeds" and I am a professional trainer -- what are the chances I can find a nice duplex with these two dogs -- both working dogs?

Is Bexley the name of a suburb?

Bexley, Grandview, and Upper Arlington are all suburbs. But they are all still within 10-15 minutes of downtown, and both Grandview and Bexley have walkable downtown areas while still offering lots of homes that aren't on top of each other. Clintonville is a wonderful area as well if you aren't concerned about schools. As for the dogs, I'm really not sure -- I will defer to someone else for that one.

Do you mean actually IN Columbus, or do you mean Central Ohio/the metro area? Pretty much none of the areas mentioned are within the city of Columbus, if that's really where you want to be for whatever reason.
