Can anyone tell me anything about Shawnee Hills? Just stumbled upon it and seems like a nice little area on the outskirts of town.

The Dispatch had an article back a few months ago. The taxes are very high. But it is adjacent to Dublin. Other than a police department, I'm not sure what services that village offers.

I live in Shawnee Hills for a year. We bought a raw lot and built a custom home. Shawnee Hills address is actually Powell but school district is Dublin, Pinney ES, Grizzell MS and Jerome HS. These are one of the best schools in the state.

While most homes in the subdivisions around here are similar in size and price range, they are widely diverse in Shawnee Hills. You can find an old small cabin next to a big brand new home. It has a small town atmosphere because it's small. Shops, restaurants and other businesses along Dublin Rd are in walkable distance.

For the service, Shawnee Hills has its own police department and they patrol all over.
You may have a higher chance to get speed tickets but it keeps the area safe. Snow removal is quick and you pay sewer bills to the village. (It's called The village of Shawnee Hills, not town). They host some events for locals gathering. And yes, tax rate is high. Municipal income tax is 2%.

Looks like Shawnee Hills intends to be more upscale residential area. Strict deed restrictions were applied when we built our home, and some rules were ridiculously Eco-friendly. I think building a small cabin is no longer accepted. You can see new constructions everywhere but they are not small at all. I don't know what rules are applied for remodeling, I recommend checking with them if you are looking to flip a reasonable home.

Have you checked their website?

Annexing Shawnee Hills? I would think there would have to be a referendum on the ballot.
