Hi folks,

I'm going to be visiting my best friend in Pittsburgh for about 12 days, starting tomorrow (2/11). I've been itching to go the new Honda Heriage Center in Marysville, OH from the moment If first read about it. When I first planned my trip, they didn't have any Heritage Center (Museum) AND Factory Tour resevtions during the time I wsa visiting. i just happened to check again and 12 spots opened up for the 2/16 tour. That's a Tuesday and I need to be at the location in Marysville at 9:15am.

What time do I need to leave Pittsburgh? Mapquest shows that it's a 218-mile trip from door to door and estimate travel time at 3hrs 28min. If traffic isn't horrible and cops aren't hiding everywhere, I can usually shave about 15-18% off the estimated but I'm not sure what the situation will be.

My gut instinct is to leave Pittsburgh no later than 5:15am to reach Marysville by 9:15am, check-in time. Is traffic an issue in Columbus around 9 or 9:30am?

Anyone else wanna go so I'm not the dude by shimself with the group of 37 Asian tourists!?

It's about a 3 hour drive, yes. Once you get in the Columbus metro, traffic can slow you down. Especially 8-9 am. And Marysville is way northeast of Columbus. At some point, you will be on 270?

Give yourself at least four hours. I've made the drive from the eastern suburbs of Columbus to visit family in St. Marys, Ohio for years, and have to go right around Marysville en route (which is northwest of Columbus, not northeast).
It's about three hours from Pittsburgh to the eastern fringe of Columbus, maybe a little less. If you hit Columbus at the right time (i.e. after 9 a.m. and before about 4:30 p.m.), you can get from Pickerington/Reynoldsburg to the other side of town in 20 minutes. Then it's 10 minutes up I-270 to U.S. 33, and another 25-30 from there to Honda.
