Any recent experiences folks have had with conferences at the convention center would be appreciated, most notably related to:
  • Wifi access
  • Availability and quality of food options
  • Ability to find one's way around (to different parts of the convention center)

I've always had good experiences at the convention center. They are undergoing a major $125M renovation/expansion project currently though, so right now things are a bit messy. When complete next year, it should be a major upgrade and worth the wait.

I haven't personally used wifi network there, but I know improvements to that are part of the current work underway... Others could probably give more specific feedback.

As far as food, the options directly in the convention center's food court I would describe as average. Nothing particularly fancy, but it always has seemed well managed, clean, and competently run during events.

Their list of vendors is here, Greater Columbus Convention

What is really great about the GCCC in my opinion is the proximity to other options in the surrounding neighborhood. Just across the street and in the surrounding blocks there are a lot more higher quality and unique, local options for food/drinks/shopping. I would especially recommend the North Market which is one half block west of the center.

Barley's Brewery & Restaurant is across the street, as is the North Market as stated. It's a great location.
